Whotter wins the TG open at Hawaii

In a few previous blogs I mentioned how my kids have picked up golf. Whotter has been doing great already but the past week he seems to have really started making a name for himself in the world of golf.

Whotter wins the TG open at Hawaii
The tournament they played in last week was the TG Open, played at the Rainbow Hawaii golf course in Second Life. I think it is the 5th of 7 events in the SLPGA Tour of 2025. Whotter had so far started in the most recent 2 of them.

Harder than the 2 hole in ones were the trees he had to play around in hole 10, to reach the green with a proper putting distance.

After his first round, which saw him take the lead, he ended up in a bit of a debate, as this tournament is scored using the handicap system. Whotter's handicap was still set to 10 and apparently that was a bit outdated. So he agreed to have it corrected to 3 (That makes me a proud mom too of cousre. As little as I understand about golf I know that lower is better in that world.)  That still kept him in the lead, but only by a very narrow margin.

Hole 14 of the Rainbow Hawaii course is (in)famous for it's peacocks, that often interfere with playing.

In his second round he scored 2 hole in ones! Wow. On hole 12 and hole 15, very short after eachother. That would certainly make him a contender for the title. Were it not that in the very next hole, Whotter somehow managed to strike his ball into a volcano... (It is Hawaii after all, I suppose.) While his sister patiently waited for him to come to his senses, he made one error after another and completely ruined a great round.

Then in the next 2 rounds he made me really proud, he could have just messed up further, but he regrouped and dragged home the tournament win from the gates of hell.

That's my boy. Big boy now.

How Whotter nearly won the Rainbow Masters

In my previous post I mentioned how Whotter started to play golf and was determined to start in the Rainbow Masters, a golf tournament in Second Life that takes place in the first week of April, just like the real life Masters in Augusta every year.

When I heard him all rave about it, I thought it was just a fling: he would go to the tournament, play a round of golf, loose all of his golfballs and then get expelled from the course for fishing in their ponds and rivers. Or worse: playing 'Theme from Titanic' on his recorder.
I didn't count on two things though:
- The Rainbow Masters used a handicap system to give the less competitive players a chance
- Whotter's stubborn and often obsessive nature

How Whotter nearly won the Rainbow Masters

This meant that Whotter, after playing 5 full practice rounds on the course, started the tournament with a handicap of 18, meaning he would have 18 strokes subtracted from the total number he made for every round.
This soon proved to be an error on behalf of the organisation: with all the practice he had put in, his progress during the tournament was rapid. The tournmament results below give an indication, but only when you realise that the last two round he played with an adjusted handicap of 8(!), not 18...

How Whotter nearly won the Rainbow Masters

If they had not corrected his handicap, Whotter would have won the Masters with a 10 point lead!

Inspired by her brother's rapid progress on the golf courses of Second Life, his sister Ngọc purchased herself a golf set too. Having previously financed her brother's gear, she knew exactly who to solicit to get the money together.

So now she is not just extorting the neighbours with 'alien object'-schemes, caused by her brother's golf balls, she is striking them herself too...

Whotter plays golf in Second Life

Whotter has picked up a new hobby: he has been playing golf in Second Life the past week.

Whotter plays golf in Second Life

It all started when Whotter wanted to go out into nature and joined my friend Lucky on a trip around Rainbow Valley North Golf Course. Seeing all the trees and grass and the waterfalls around must have done it: he picked up a golf outfit the next day and started practicing...

He didn't even do too badly: he claims retrieving balls from the water is a specialty. Who knows, as an otter... Now he has set his eyes on competing in the Rainbow Masters, in April. I hope he won't be too disappointed when he doesn't win the big prize in the tournament.

Whotter has extended his practice to Street Whores now too. This resulted in Ngoc and Jess discovering a strange object behind the door of the Down Detective Agency. Unknowing that this was the marker for a golf ball's position, they quickly shut down the agency and marked it up for a cleanup operation by TAPS*

As of today, the agency is still closed, as the ower hasn't paid the cleaning bill for an 'alien object' yet. More news to follow...

Whotterworld

We received news that Whotter had rented one of the apartments, in the big flat blocks at the northern side at Street Whores. This seemed a bit strange. Why would he rent a flat if he already has a place to live?

It soon became clear though: his sister Ngọc had accompanied him in his quest to rent a top-floor apartment and convert it into something we didn't have yet in town: an indoor swimming pool.

We're not sure all the neighbours of the new swimming pool will like this initiative, escpecially the ones living straight below it. Let's hope this all ends well and without too much damage...

If you want to visit it: the place is called 'Whotterworld'.

A sister for Whotter

We all know how crazy Second Life can be. The past weekend it brought me and my son Whotter an addition to the family: Ngọc. Due to our home location she had to be born fully-developed and 18+. What can I say? It saves some work buying child avatars and accompanying furniture?

A sister for Whotter

Ngọc Thị Cheng was born with everything fully developed and all mature. As actually most of us choose to do in this virtual thought. Now that is a thought for you.

As sure as she is actually allowed in my home, you are all invited for... well not the baby shower, geez, how do we call the arrival of a mature daughter into this world?

Whotter Moved out

I brought a client to my room and much to my surprise, found whotter sitting in front of my bed. That wasn't very convenient: no one expects an otter in the room when they hire a prostitute. They may fear getting bitten and so. We don't want that... So I sent him off.

Whotter didn't like the idea either it seemed. He hit me up afterwards and expressed his need for more privacy. So I decided to help him find a nice place for himself. But not too far away: family sticks together, after all.
It didn't take me long to find him this nice bungalow tent he could setup on the roof.
It even provided him with the most fantastic view down over the alley and the streets beyond. I think Whotter will really enjoy his new room here on the roof.

Becoming a SL21B Greeter

Whotter applied to become a greeter at the annual Second Life Birthday event, this year it's named SL21B, since, well.. it's the 21st anniversary!

Becoming a SL21B Greeter

Apparently, all he had to do is fill in a short application form. Then he was checked for eligibility. I would never have passed that check, as my profile is of an adult nature. Whotter's is not. It's mostly about fish and his novel... (As you will know, that one is named 'fish' as well...)

Becoming a SL21B Greeter

When accepted, he followed a training. That one was only last night. It was given by Viola Mole, who is the new Greeter Coordinator. Whotter might have been anxious at first, being a tiny. Maybe he won't fit the uniform, or he would not be accepted, but look: the Greeter Coordinator is this lovely cat avatar. You got to love the diversity in Second Life.

Becoming a SL21B Greeter

The story continues on July the 20th, as the greeters will be released onto the SL21B party grounds...

A day at the beach with the X-Sisters

It was about time the cold winter weather stopped here, but yeah, how do you do that? Get away to somewhere warm: X-Sisters Sex Bar for instance. They have a new home location and they are spending a lot of time on the beach the past 2 weeks now. So it was about time Whotter and I enjoyed the summer heat, if only for a day.

You don't have to say that twice to Whotter: he loves water, especially when he thinks it offers him access to his favourite food. Don't think I need to spell out the 'fish-word' for you...

It was not long before X-girls Ebony (to the left) and Fox joined me at the beach bar. They warned me that things could get crazy there. Any moment, it's unpredictable.

Whotter didn't care: he found something to do pretty quick. There was this nice tour balloon and he went up in it, ignoring all the safety instructions one would normally receive for such a thing.

And after that he ran straight for something he had spotted from the skies: the waterslide!

Whotter just showed that even without sex, booze and drugs a lot of fun can be had at X-Sisters.

Of course, the inevitable happened:he walked up to the bar and asked: "Titanic"
Jess, X-Sisters owner was naive enough to start a conversation on how cool it'd be to rezz a Titanic on her region. All the Titanic talk of course meant Whotter just had to produce his recorder and play us his much-feared rendition of 'Theme from Titanic', a song that's already awful enough if someone else is playing it...
As soon as he was done I confiscated the recorder. Then one of the barflies spotted me and it turned out I was one of the attractions of the place myself.

X-Sisters has a 'Wall of Fame', which implies having completed a certain number of challenges in and around the bar. One of them had to be completed in the DJ booth, further down the beach, he explained. Behind the DJ table was a little cabin with records and a couch.

He said he especially liked my tattoo, so I made sure he got a good look at it, while completing his challenge.

After all the workout, it was time for me to clean up. What better way would there be than in the ocean? So I went to the waterslide myself to conclude a hot day at the beach.

Construction works are starting

Whotter found Lucky at Street Whores with big plans: she wants to improve the connection between the existing area of Street Whores and the new part of town, that is rented by X-Sisters Sex Bar.

A tower crane at Street Whores

She also wants to add a new event area and replace the existing 'park' before the apartment blocks. Better concepts for future expansion of the area should always have been included in the design of course. But thinking ahead has never been the strongest part of the planning here.

One girl did think ahead and rezzed a tower crane already. Whotter got in his construction suit and sat down to admire the works.

A bargirl once again

After walking around in the new neighbourhood at Street Whores a few days back, Whotter and I decided to return and see if they had made any progress building. They did! We found a small arcade in one of the buildings. It has a basketball game, a playable pool table and a few other games. Nice for anyone, I would say.

A building across the road houses a photo studio now. Very handy for the escort girls, or street whores, who like to make their own profile pictures. Don't forget the ratecards either...

The SWOP SL (Sex Workers Outreach Project) building needs to be filled still I suppose, but it is clearly a project of Christina's. I will offer her the media prims again to my 2 series of informational pieces. I expect she will get it filled in the weeks to come.

The area looked interesting, and as I have done before at the Home Sweet Home Bordello and Club Radiance, I decided to give it a go and see if I would be employable here. Apparently I have quite the reputation, as they didn't ask me to fill in any form or whatever.

So now I am employed by X-Sisters, for their Street Whores location! They even bribed Whotter with a big crate of fish, which he has subsequently been eating for as long as I was in yesterday...

A new part of town

So I was walking around with Whotter when we ran into this big wall. We tried to walk around it, but there seemed to be no end to it.

A big wall has been built at Street Whores

On minimap I noticed 2 familiar names though: one was Boo, one of the new owners of Street Whores, the other Jess, who owns X-Sisters Sex Bar and the small bar she runs in our little town.

A new part of town

Fortunately, in Second Life, we can all fly, even if it is disabled in parcel settings. So Whotter and I went out to explore and found a new set of streets. Most of the buildings seemed to be just empty shells still, but a short talk with Boo (well, rather: shouting through some walls) learnt us that she and Jess were building on an area that Jess would be renting.

A new part of town

We found Jess around a street corner. She was still building on the new Street Whores bar for X-Sisters. So we went in for a little chat. She explained she was doing the bar here and some additional buildings. To attract a new audience for both places.

A new part of town

It seemed there was a lot of building still to be done, so we will visit the place later again to see how it has become. Meanwhile, you can take a sneak peek for yourself already of course: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hoogenach/188/130/65

We have a fan

While I was talking with a man on the streets, TJ hit me up in IM and showed me a link to his photo album on Flickr. It seems Whotter and I have a fan...

As seen through my legs, TJ sits down with Whotter

TJ made this shot of Whotter and his keytar, part of my son's rockstar aspirations, as seen from through my legs. TJ hit us up on the streets a while later and we would visit SL20B, the 20th Second Life birthday celebrations.

Whotter's 10th rezzday party

I can't believe it's been 10 years already since my baby was born in Second Life, but yes:

Whotter's 10th rezzday party
The party area is being setup

Today we are celebrating Whotter's 10th rezzday! There will be a party with DJ Clau and prizes for the best-dressed 3 party-goers in 'Best in Fish'.

Don't worry, Whotter won't be the jury on this one and you won't end up in a frying pan...

Whotter is fascinated by the aquarium already

The party will start at 1PM SL Time and will be at: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hoogenach/91/184/66
