Dogpoop in the streets

Anaïs little shih-tzu, Nin, left us a present today. We were not really charmed by it. Bambi Devilbliss-Ghostwood and I tried to get the dog's owner to clean it up.

Meeting up with Barry

The other day Barry Lubezki walked into Street Whores. That was a nice surprise for me. My daughter seemed to like it even more: I guess she is a bit easily star-struck still.

Barry was the owner of Hooker Hotel, Cinema Q and some more land, until the places got hacked two weeks ago. I will keep the details out of this blog, but read the last chapter of this post on some tips to secure yourself.
What was particularly nasty, was not just that all his lands were abandoned and his builds destroyed by the hackers,  but that within 24 hours a profiteering person had setup a new place, named 'Hooker Hotel', with same land descriptions and business model and had a bot ready at Barry's old parcel to direct traffic to his spot. Similarly, the owner of a large Second Life beer brand also setup there in no time...

Some people have no morals.

That includes Linden Lab apparently, who allowed this opportunist to even set up a full region using the brand name that Barry Lubezki had established over the years in SL.

Real Hookers 

So you can imagine that Barry was not amused.

 

He visited though to rent an adboard for his new place, that is to replace Hooker Hotel: Real Hookers. Ngoc and I showed him the two adboards that we had already setup for him and we had a little chat.

Account security 

So yeah, this also gave us all a lesson in account security. Linden Lab already had a good community blogpost on this subject. I will link it here: https://community.secondlife.com/news/featured-news/your-account-your-world-keep-it-safe-r11193/

 

I am not going into depths on this subject, as I am no expert on it, but I do recommend everyone to:

 

- use a strong password

- setup Multi-Factor Authentication

- never click any links sent by someone you don't know (or preferably: none at all...)

- if someone points you to something, say on Second Life's Marketplace: go there yourself and look it up. Don't click the link. And don't just enter your password after clicking a link!

Street Whores Halloween Party 2025

The Street Whores Halloween Party 2025 will take place tomorrow, 31 October at 12PM PDT, that is Noon Second Life time.

A Double Street Whores Anniversary Party

We are celebrating a party tomorrow at Street Whores that sort of captures 2 events: it has been 15 years since the now iconic Second Life redlight district was founded by Suzi Ah. It's also been 1 year since Jess X rebuilt it after buying the land back at auction.

We hope the party will be fun of course and the start of yet another succesful year in the best redlight district in Second Life's history.

Well.. that almost sounded like a promotion, but the real promotion text of the party follows here:

A wall of tits

A few weeks ago I saw Melanie Tuxing line up a bunch of girls on the sidewalk near the teleport routing point, to create a 'wall of tits'. Yesterday I thought to do the same.

Good thing I had Christina, Virginia and Anaïs with me. Virginia had to leave soon though. But after a while Mel Tuxing herself walked in. She approved of my action.

So, if you are one of the 95% of inhabitants in Second Life that is unamployed (an estimated 90% is homeless), and if you got the right assets, why not come hit me up at Street Whores and start your career as a part of our wall. It requires some patience, but it can be more fun than you think! ;-) 

The new Street Whores Police Station

 
The Street Whores region in Second Life has a new police station: it is manned (or can you say 'womaned'?) by Tanya, our designated drugs addict.

Tanya has her cop motorcycle parked outside and she looks really serious in her uniform. Of course, one can only know how that plays out in reality when she has to do her job: like make an arrest, or write a parking ticket.

Unrelated, we got a nice BDSM dungeon here too: it is across the street from the Police Station. Having had a quick peek at the station's cell, I can see some use for the dungeon...

Whotterworld

We received news that Whotter had rented one of the apartments, in the big flat blocks at the northern side at Street Whores. This seemed a bit strange. Why would he rent a flat if he already has a place to live?

 

It soon became clear though: his sister Ngọc had accompanied him in his quest to rent a top-floor apartment and convert it into something we didn't have yet in town: an indoor swimming pool.

 

We're not sure all the neighbours of the new swimming pool will like this initiative, escpecially the ones living straight below it. Let's hope this all ends well and without too much damage...

Winter and a new year at Street Whores

The holidays are over and I am happy things return a little bit to normal for me now. I like one-on-one contact better than all the social pressure with the holidays.

We had a lot of fun at Street Whores though, with the Home Decoration Contest and the Christmas Party. On New Year's Eve (whenever that is in SL as we are all in different timezones) Jess had lit fireworks that went off every hour.

 

Virginia Stella organised 2 DJ's for the Christmas party and made these wonderful photos. It was a lot of fun, but oh boy, was I tired afterwards.

Meanwhile, Whotter and Ngọc befriended my friend's daughter Kvêta. One day after the weekly Second Life rolling restart I suddenly saw them all stand together on my roof, overlooking the streets. It was a bit strange to see Whotter and Kvêta not going at eachother's throats.

 

 

Otherwise, it is business at usual. With just the little change that my house is getting a bit small now, with my daughter now providing a large chunk of the family income. I had to get myself earplugs.

A dance to remember Rachael

Today marks a year since Rachael Ezvalt, my old friend at Street Whores, passed away. We had a little dance last night to commemorate her. At her Memorial Garden at X-Sisters.

 

 

Winter, her partner, came too. She always had beautifully crafted avatars. This time she was a blue dragon, a new shape for us. We looked a bit through the messages left over the past year and made ourselves ready for the dance. Most friends walked in soon after us.

 

 DJ Zach played the set, mostly consisting of songs that Rachael once played herself as DJ or requested. He also included some from her SoundCloud. Some of us wondered who would count the fish in the fishtank, a job Rachael would have reserved for the new trainees at X-Sisters... Whotter volunteered, but we told him he would not be allowed to count fish.

And of course, the boxbot heads returned once again...

 

Two weeks of Halloween are over

 Wait, Halloween doesn't last two weeks, right? It's just one day? One night even...

It is, but of course, in Second Life, with people in multiple timezones, it will likely last 24 hours. Now imagine you have 2 places you work at within SL: a redlight district and a sex bar. Both organise a Halloween Party, both organise some events leading up to it. Those need to be planned in advance too.

So yes, Halloween takes two weeks or more. And that can be pretty exhausting. But then, you get a whole bunch of people decorating their places at Street Whores. You get this beautiful stage built by Mithrandriel Morningstar, enthousiastic DJ's and volunteers stepping up.

And that gives you party images that are reminiscent of Hieronymus Bosch.

The madness is all worth it really.

The same happened at X-Sisters, where we had the 'Haunted Seduction' skull hunt, with Barflies going crazy to hire the staff and collect as many skulls as possible. Which also got me into quite some steamy sessions...

There was the kettle with the green, bubbling and odd-tasting Halloween Brew, that you would not dare drink any other time of the year..

And of course, various sex locations, like here: The Crypt. Moist and spooky...

A fan wanted a selfie with me

Every day out on the street something unexpected may happen. Like this weekend, a fan hit me up while I was crawling the curbs, greeting some of the new girls that came in at Street Whores and so on.

Who am I to day no to such a fun request. I suggested I could bare the girls to make the selfie a bit more memorable for him. He didn't say no.

Got to love my fans. Apparently I am a celebrity. Thank you!

A hectic few weeks at Street Whores

I don't really know where to start. It has been a few weeks since I blogged, since so much happened at Street Whores. It is just not easy to write in an environment like this.

We had a huge reopening party at Street Whores and a couple of times during those 4 hours the region was completely full. So we considered that a big success. There were 2 DJ sets, one lucky visitor even had sex with our second DJ on stage...

We had a few nice locations open in our revived region: Lucky's Garage Bar being one of them.

Another venue we are slowly filling up with DJ events is 'The Underground', a discotheque below street level, accessible through an underground (or subway if you are American, Metro if French) entrance.

Fiver's famous Bar No.5 is back in the street too. It is great to see my old neighbour back, this time with a derelict/burnt down version of the bar she used to have opposite my old house in Bordello Alley. It was completely jampacked this sunday and everyone was drunk.

And of course I had lots to do myself...

The end of Street Whores after 14 years

Yesterday was friday the 13th. I am not supersticious, but who would have guessed that near 8AM SL time on that day my items from Streetwhores would all be returned to me by the Linden who is responsible for land clearances...

And as I walked in, still in a bikini, as I came from the X-Sisters Bear Bar, I just saw an empty field. It can be hard to swallow, to see your home in Second Life for 14 years vanish like that. I am still not sure what I would want to write about it right now.

And, seen from the other side, still empty for many years, but existing, the place where I worked a couple of weeks before I found Street Whores and moved in there: Whore-Inn. Strange.
