Street cleaning

Street Cleaning

Stephanie told me about some person that 3 or 4 girls were annoyed with. After talking to one of them, it became pretty clear to me: all that this 'asshole' did was standing still in the middle of the street, 'for hours' as they said. Probably wanking.
So I searched Marketplace for a bulldozer. Naturally I got a bit distracted and bought me and a bunch of girls a set of summer dresses... You can see Candy and I wearing them in this photo.

In the end I got this pretty 'AT CSU Rat' and the first thing that happened you must have guessed already: Whotter jumped on it and tried to sweep us up...

Steph is back

A few days ago I heard a friend say that she saw Stephanie in-world. It must have been ages. I missed her.
Succubus Stephanie

We met a few days ago, while I was chatting with Violet and Christina. Today she walked by my place after I had to do another piece of Street Whores administration (ban another girl for breaking the rules here) You won't believe the stuff we need to do to maintain the place a little...

It's good to have her back. It will help to restore order a bit. And give some room for extra fun.

Second Life's 15th Birthday

Second Life's 15th Birthday is something that I have missed completely. I have been to a couple of the Birthday regions over the previous years, but this time the death of an old friend here at Street Whores, a few smaller things and lack of time in RL has prevented me from paying much attention to it.

That is not a disaster of course, but I would have liked to see some of the builds on the SL15B regions. Reading the blog on the Second Life Community page I saw some other interesting things though that Linden Labs will have in store for us this year.

They mention 15 improvements here. Many of them have to do with the costs of mainland and increasing the value residents get for their money, which is a thing we should all be happy about. There are some perks mentioned for premium accounts. I never went premium since I didn't see the point. I am not sure I would now. As long as I don't 'own' virtual land I can get by perfectly well on a basic account, renting my places where they are available.
There is the mention of new games and experiences. I never played one of these. Maybe I should some day soon, simply so I can blog about it. I can see the value for newcomers when it comes to teaching them how the platform works, but I prefer to rely on my own imagination and the communities I live in.
Then there are some measures for performance improvement. We'll see how that works out.

What really struck me though is point number 7: The return of Last Names - You’ve asked for it (a lot!), so we will provide a way to customize your last name in Second Life! More details will be available later this year.

Having a 'legacy' last name, my avatar being from 2010, I really like this one. I see all these new single named-residents (All having that annoying 'Resident' as addition to their account name for many purposes) and I pity them. For their names that end with numbers, the hopeless display names they sometimes choose, etc. Before that people could only pick a last name from a list, but this seemed only to trigger the creativity of the avatar's owner, often leading to memorable, if not hilarious names. Ever since those were abandoned I look at people's choices and I just have to yawn.

I hope this change will make avatar names more bearable again for all of us in the near future...

Tina Bonnie returned

Tina Bonnie returned

I had the strangest day yesterday. First I had an incident where I found out I forgot the rental box for my house. Some new girl to the place had already rented the box. Since I've been living here for over for years, the place was previously redecorated for me and I had absolutely no intention to move, we had to look for an alternative for this girl.
Then I saw Tina Bonnie back. I thought she had left SL. She wasn't dressed in her old hooker attire anymore, neither did she give me the impression that she had been drunk lately. She did come across strange to me, though. She had become a nun!

To me and Violet this was confusing. We thought she had left SL, but she denied this. She also told us that she had discovered God and she was at peace now. After a while she walked off. I hope we see her again some time soon.
