My favourite outfit - Themed party

So, a little advertising for a party tonight at my 'workplace'. It's in the series 'Suzies Monthlies' and this time the theme is 'My favourite outfit'. I will not be joining the party this time, unfortunately, but you'll have a chance to try out any of the other whores and get them out of their favourite outfit before the show is over....

Steph's new puppy

On a calm wednesday morning, I arrived at my work a bit later than planned, I found my friend Stephanie with a new pet: she had this cute puppy now, with a bow on the head and a collar, all in pink. Naturally, given the colour, I liked it instantly.

Whotter didn't though. Of course we could have expected a jealous reaction from my son, who more or less has the function of a pet at Street Whores - Town Square, but he was particularly vicious towards the dog. We were afraid he was going to eat it!

Steph fed him a fish though, from her bag. That did it. After this, Whotter was only focused on Steph's purse. The puppy was safe again.

A first try at video in Secondlife

I thought it was about time to experiment with screen capture and see if I could maybe make my own movies in the future. So I downloaded this program (Camstudio it was in this case) and tried it for a little while. I suppose the result is not spectacular yet, but hey.. it's fun to try this.


Given the recent slowness in the streets, this at least keeps me busy a little...

Some days whoring is just not enough. There is also time to be spent on things like sports, exploring, like the days we go out sailing with the 'street girls sailing group', and there's even a time to be spent on culture.

Sunday I was contacted by a woman named Maria. She had read my blog and more specifically, the first episodes of my 'How to become a prostitute' series. She asked me if those could be included in her Second Life library. I told her I liked the idea, but of course everything needed be done in the proper way: credits etc.
After this she mentioned her sim and some literary initiatives she was involved in. There was also a poetry reading going on. I decided to have a look.

Soon enough I found out everything was in Spanish, which I don't speak, so I didn't get much of it. Afterwards, I spoke with a couple of people there and went back to my street corner.

Ej and 'La petite mort'

EJ is one of the more interesting men I know. He asked me ages ago to write a story for a collection he was making.Subject: women who have cybersex in Second Life, but what it really focuses on is what they do in real life meanwhile. Touching themselves, drinking coffee, emptying the cookie jar, whatever...

Given that the subject is self-pleasure, I suspect it will be less coffee and chocolate, but still, I would have considered that if I had filed in a story for him. Fortunately, I always forgot to write it, not writing SL-related things once I am logged off and not having time to write more than a few sentences once I am logged in due to continuous IM's and chat from people around me...

The right look matters if you are a prostitute. While there are as many tastes (or lack thereof) as there are men, there are some general things to be said about dressing up your avatar if you intend to go on the whoring path. There is not so much I can add to this, really. I invested a lot in my appearance from day one and I am cashing in on my appearance most of the time in Second Life as a result. I could say: "Do something that matches your style and character" If you feel comfortable and sexy, it will work for you. But also, be prepared to be critical to your appearance and adapt it when the time comes. There will be new clothing, mesh and other shapes and parts of them on the market that may help you improve. It never stops...

This is me 2 weeks ago: new prim eyes and still one of my 'old' flex hairs in use. In the course of time I also added prim nails, Slink feet and a lot of extra wardrobe.

Dressed up by a gentleman

Well that surely is a nice way for any man to introduce himself when he appears in my street. It beats 'I like your tits', though I am in no position to complain about that either. He looked handsome, and by the way he dressed and the attention put into his avatar, I'd think he had the cash to hire some girl for a wild night too. That wasn't what interested him though.

At first he mentioned snapshots and camera zoom. He pointed out that the regular Second Life camera view was a wide angle one. In real life you would use that maybe for landscapes, but for instance for portrait photography it would not make sense. You'd need at least a 50mm lens for that.
In SL, he pointed out, you can get there by zooming in, with ctrl-0, ctrl-8/9/0 being the zoom shortkeys for the secondlife camera. Just press ctrl-0 a couple of times, then pan your camera into the right position and you'll get a much more realistic camera angle for a portrait photo.

After this he decided it was time to dress me up. Given the amount of exposure and the cheap look of what I was wearing, I can understand this. Pretty soon though it turned out that he handed me some items of his own making, in pink of course. I wondered if he got turned on by the idea of dressing up hookers. But then I realised it would also simply be good business if you're in the latex trade and you got one or two girls out there in the streets wearing your stuff. Well.. it's not a punishment doing so. I gladly try on something new, especially if it can make some guy happy.
He never asked for it, but I think a little thank you is nice for mister Kai Heideman of 'Powers of creation', or *poc* as the short version of the name is. After all, it's so nice of him to dress me up. :-)

How to become a prostitute - Part 1, finding a place

I guess there are all kinds of reasons for a girl to become a prostitute. In Secondlife, apart from the money, there is primarily one good reason:

You like cybersex, but most of all you love the feel of being paid for it...

  
So, how do you start out?
First of all you would need to be sure this is what you want. Being a whore may sound exciting, but it's a bore for much of the time too. Be prepared for hours and hours of sheer nothingness, digital rain and virtual disasters (crashes, silent logouts etc.) It's not glamourous and much of the time it's not raunchy or dirty either.
If you're just in it for a quick buck: become a banker
If you want lots of silly semi-afk cybersex: go to a 'nude beach'

Then, be prepared. I will go into stuff like good shapes, skins, skimpy or sexy clothing in all forms later, if I feel like. For now, I'm going to talk about places. Provided you are 'well-dressed' for the job, you don't look too awful and you have some experience in cybersex and dealing with scripted furniture, you're good to go. Only where do you go?

Exploring other escort areas

Every now and then I walk around a bit, trying to pick up clients elsewhere. While I do believe that being in a fixed place and investing time in that helps best in building up a client base, I also noticed that every now and then you find a new guy somewhere out there who is in need of my company ;-)

For instance: a nice man who is making a comic book series introduced me to his 'hood'. which has a nice gritty urban theme. I noticed some street walkers hang out there. There was also a sort of dubious club. So it seemed like the perfect place to try out for an hour or so.

In the end nothing happened, which may not mean it is a bad place, but it was interesting nonetheless. I can always make a few photo's and blog the experience...
