Greed and consumption

I went to the fashion event and it struck me how much I was under the spell of greed: the need for new things that I may not need at all.

Of course the Cosmopolitan event, that has been going on for 6 rounds now, is nice and there are many things built for it that are truely beautiful pieces of SL Fashion. But really, with my wardrobe, do I need all those new clothes? Even if I decide to get some clothing, do I need the fatpack because I like 3 out of the 12 colours? Can't I just decide between the 3 colours which one I want most? Like, the pink thing I am wearing in those pictures, that replaces an old favourite of mine and I really use it now. But all the other stuff I bought? What was that again?

It all just goes against one of the basic things we try to teach our children, that we can't have all of it. But yet, we fall for what we call childish behaviour in them.

Poor us.

The Whore Couture Fair, 5th edition

I spoke to a colleague of mine, Anna Livia Plurabelle (more about that name later) and she mentioned that the Whore Couture Fair had just started. Damn! I almost missed it!

I had visited a previous edition, I think it is 2 years ago now, and didn't visit the last one. I definitely don't want to miss out this time and miss a chance to see so much hot, trashy and outrageous stuff in one place.
So, after verifying that all the men present were either AFK or explaining to their wives, or mothers, what they were doing at Street Whores - Town Square, I teleported to the fair and immediately found a shoe boutique, filled with stuff I wanted.
Boy, oh boy, who is going to help me purchase all of this? Maybe I should throw in a special offer for the occasion too...

Fishnets and leather

Let's see if I can do a little fashion post, something slutty of course, the stuff a whore would wear. Starting with fishnets and leather.

Pretty in pink

I just got this set from a new shop, Fulana'S. They had a promotion and I got this hot pink little number from their lucky letter sign. There was a little problem with the texture not showing (it was all white.) I IM' ed the creator, Taiwali, and she replaced it immediately with a good copy. Excellent service! I'll be back there...

Whore Couture Fair

Hookers need clothes too! Actually, we need lots of them. Our work clothes wrinkle and tear up rapidly, especially when working in the streets. Apart from this, we also need to dress warm or casual every now and then, when visiting unsuspecting family members for instance.

These weeks there is the Whore Couture Fair, a big heavily-visited expo of clothing a girl won't be wearing on a visit to her mom's. It features just about anything you can think of that a girl on the prowl might need.
